A domain name is your website name, the address where users can access your website online.
Computers use IP addresses, which are a series of numbers. However, it is difficult to remember strings of numbers hence domain names are used for finding and identifying entities on the internet rather than using IP addresses.
A domain name can be any combination of letters and numbers, and it can be combined with various domain name extensions, such as .store, .tech, and more.
A domain name must be registered before you can use it. Each domain name is unique, meaning no two websites can have the same domain name. name.
A TLD (Top-Level Domain) is the last extension of a domain name, it is the highest level in the hierarchical Domain Name System of the internet. The most well-known examples of TLDs are .com, .net, and .org. Generally, these TLDs are labeled "gTLDs", which is an acronym for Generic Top-Level Domains.
Under a new, less restrictive process, ICANN has said there is potential to create up to 1000 new TLDs per year. These new TLDs are simply called nTLDs. Many nTLDs, such as .store, .online, .tech, and more, have been created and are available today for registration.
.store is a new top-level domain (nTLD) for e-commerce. If the primary goal of your website is to sell, nothing says it better than a .store domain. Whether on a search engine listing or a print ad, users know that a website on a .store domain is a place to buy from.
